Von 1529 LUCAS CRANACH THE ELDER , und sein sohn lucas der jüngere schilderte die christliche tugend der liebe , caritas oder caritas , in einigen dutzend verschiedenen versionen . Es passierte nur in einzelnen bildern , wo caritas ( Nächstenliebe ) erscheint nicht in der gesellschaft der sieben ( oder mehr ) tugenden und laster . es ist die caritas, die fast ausschließlich in den darstellungen der tugend von cranach vorkommt , mit ausnahme von zwei bildern der gerechtigkeit in form eines leicht verschleierten weiblichen aktes, der schuppen und ein schwert trägt .
